An international academic conference on the theme of the "Wood Tiger" will be held next week.
The international academic conference titled "Woodblock Documentary Heritage: Registration, Preservation, and Accessibility" will be held on October 6–7, 2026, at the National Library of Mongolia’s branch library (new building).
The conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia (MCSTYM), the National Library of Mongolia (NLM), the Korean Studies Institute (KSI) of the Republic of Korea, and the International Association of Printing with Woodblocks (IAPW).
Representatives and scholars from five countries with woodblock printing traditions—Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam—will present papers at the conference. This conference brings together international scholars, researchers, curators, and professionals from the library and cultural heritage sectors to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue regarding best practices for the preservation of woodblock-printed documentary heritage, emerging modern technologies and methodologies, and unified strategies for collaboration; it will make a valuable contribution to strengthening international cooperation in the study of manuscript and woodblock-printed heritage.
We cordially invite all scholars, researchers, and esteemed readers to attend.
