An international academic conference on the "Wood Tiger" is taking place.
The international academic conference titled "Woodblock Heritage: Registration, Preservation, and Accessibility" is taking place on October 6–7, 2026, at the new branch facility of the National Library of Mongolia.
B. Ichinkhorloo, Director of the National Library of Mongolia, opened the conference and read a welcoming address from S. Sainbayar, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth. Additionally, Hong Seogpyo, Vice President of the Korea Studies Institute (KSI)—a co-organizer of the event—delivered remarks, while Shu Jiamin, Director of the Yangzhou Museum in Yangzhou, China, conveyed greetings via a virtual connection.
This international academic conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia, the National Library of Mongolia, the Korea Studies Institute (South Korea), and the International Woodblock Printing Association. Among the seven countries worldwide that possess a tradition of woodblock printing, representatives and scholars from five nations—Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam—will present papers at the international academic conference titled "Woodblock Documentary Heritage: Registration, Preservation, and Access."
During the conference, a unique exhibition featuring selected rare and precious woodblocks from the collection of the National Library of Mongolia is being presented to conference delegates and the general public.
We cordially invite scholars, researchers, and all interested readers to attend the international academic conference on "Woodblock Documentary Heritage: Registration, Preservation, and Access."
