                                    %u041d%u041e%u041c%u042b%u041d %u0421%u0410%u041d%u0427 2022/0216THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY BEING NO EVERYDAY OCCURRENCEMadam Minister,Madam Director,Esteemed colleagues,It is my great honour and pleasure to address these few words of greeting to you all, participants in the Mongolian Library Update 2022 conference, on behalf of IFLA%u2019s Bibliography Section.The National Library of Mongolia, as part of its project to implement a National Bibliography, recently undertook the translation into Mongolian of the Common Practices for National Bibliographies in the Digital Age, a guide created by the Bibliography Section to assist those seeking information for creating and maintaining a National Bibliography. That this guide should find its use so fast and in such a relevant manner (the implementation of a National Bibliography being no everyday occurrence) is truly gratifying. We hope it proves helpful and extend our sincere thanks for the translation work, and warm wishes for a successful completion of the National Bibliography in Mongolia.National Bibliographies are a unique tool for the knowledge of a country%u2019s distinctive intellectual and cultural output, a treasure trove for citizens, researchers and historians alike.
